Hidden gems at the Australian International Furniture Fair 2012
As Australia’s own International Furniture Fair draws to a close, here are some of the treasures that were lurking in the vast expanse of the Sydney Exhibition Centre.
It took some sifting through to get to the good stuff and while overlooking much of the generic rehashes of the same old “yawn” furniture designs there were some gorgeous hidden gems. While the fair doesn’t quite compete with the grandeur of the infamous European furniture exhibitions such as Maison et Objet, it is still a reassuring sign that Australia is still striving to be at the forefront of furniture and homewares design.
