Improving Office Productivity

On average we spend 45 hours a week at work and 1.5 hours a day on average is spent rifling through messy desks. It is said that your average pen pusher has only 1.5 hours of productive work time a day between lunches, trips to the photocopier and coffee excursions. I’m pretty dubious about these stats, and fairly certain I have far more than 1.5 hours of productive time at my desk. I like to think of myself as an anomaly in this graph averaging at least 2 hours of productive desk time a day (after perfectly brewing 12 cups of English Breakfast, studying various social media sites, and purchasing a new outfit for next weekend.)

As shallow as it may seem, all these “Workplace Productivity Gurus” have failed to realise is that if your work space is ridiculously cool then you will inevitably want to spend time within it, look and feel good doing it and there fore improving your productivity. I’m no expert but if you’re desk is awesome, the rest will follow; increased work output, promotion, pay-rise, sports car, huge pad. The world is your oyster!
